Method for installing a screen device in a greenhouse or department store
The invention relates to screen devices such as are applied to greenhouses and department stores and the like. These screening devices can fulfill various functions, such as, for example, shielding the cultivation against sunlight, preventing light emission, isolating the cultivation space against heat loss or vice versa against the entry of heat and the like. For these purposes, different types of screen devices are known that usually consist of a number of screen cloths. These screen cloths are on the one hand attached to a fixed part of the greenhouse, such as to a lattice girder, and which, on the other hand, are attached to a reciprocating screen profile. The screen cloths are thereby fixed to the relevant profiles and beams by means of clamps. From time to time the screens must be exchanged, the clips then having to be detached or pulled loose and a new screen cloth having to be fixed again with such clips.
Although such a method of installing the screen cloth is usual practice, problems nevertheless arise. These problems mainly occur in greenhouses with a relatively high height of the deck. In that case, the screens will also be at a fairly high level. It must be borne in mind here that the screens are attached by hand by means of the clamps, which means that the personnel must carry out the work with the help of aerial platforms.
Especially with relatively high greenhouses this means that the aerial platform must be constantly moved up and down; for safety reasons it is not allowed to move the lifted platform with the personnel inside the greenhouse. The consequence of this is that the traditional method of fixing the screen cloth with the aid of clamps is time-consuming and therefore expensive. The object of the invention is therefore to provide a method for installing a screen device that is more efficient and therefore less expensive.
That object is achieved by means of a method for installing a screen device in a greenhouse or greenhouse, comprising the steps of; providing at least two substantially parallel profiles supported with respect to the support structure and at least one of which is movable in the transverse direction, which profiles both comprise a longitudinal guide, - providing a screen in rolled up state, folded state and the like, attaching series of mutually spaced guide elements to both longitudinal edges of the screen cloth, bringing the guide elements successively together on one of the longitudinal edges of the screen cloth with the longitudinal guide of one of the profiles and bringing together successively the guide elements on the other longitudinal edge of the screen cloth with the longitudinal guide of the other profile, shifting the screen cloth and the associated guide elements along the profiles.
In the method according to the invention, the screen can be kept ready on the substrate and, for example, supplied on a so-called tube trolley that can be moved over tubes that are present on the substrate in connection with the heating. Subsequently, only the screen cloth, and in particular the guide elements attached thereto, need to be brought into association with the fixed profile and the screen profile. To this end, one-off activities must be carried out at a relatively high level. However, as soon as the front part of the screen cloth is attached to the profiles, the screen cloth can be pulled along the profiles along the entire length of the profiles. It is then no longer necessary to perform work at a relatively great height by hand. As a result, the application of the screen can be carried out more safely, more efficiently and at a lower cost price. ...
The displacement of the screen cloth and the associated guide elements along the profiles can simply be continued until the screen cloth extends over the entire length of the profiles. In that connection, the guide elements preferably consist of a material that has a low friction coefficient, such as a plastic with a low friction coefficient. In order to prevent the screen fabric from shifting during operation, the method may also comprise the steps of fixing the screen cloth relative to the profiles, such as by increasing the frictional force between a guide and at least one of the guide elements cooperating with it.
The replacement of the screen can also be carried out in the same safe and efficient manner. The screen can simply be pulled out of the profiles and wound up or stacked in connection with its removal. ,
As already mentioned above, the screen can be applied in a simple manner without it being necessary to carry out work over the entire length of the profiles for this purpose. This can be achieved in particular by the steps of: - placing a roll and the like with the screen cloth on the substrate on which the greenhouse or the greenhouse is located, - providing transfer means extending between the roll and the like and the profiles, transferring the screen cloth from the roll and the like to the profiles via the transfer means, guiding the guide elements in the transfer means.
The roll or stack with the supply of screen fabric can thus be placed at working height, whereafter the transfer means, which extend between that supply of fabric screen and the profiles at height in the greenhouse construction, can be arranged. The total length of the screen can thus be taken from the stock, for instance be unrolled from a roll or stack, and be guided via the transfer means into the relevant profiles. Suitable tensile members can be used, for example one or more cables attached to the front end of the screen.
As described above, the screen cloth is guided in the profiles and retained by guide elements. These guide elements can, for example, be attached to the screen in the factory. However, often a larger length of screen cloth is included on a roll or stack. In that case it is less desirable to already provide guide elements on the side edges of the screen in advance: the rolled edges with relatively thick guide elements would then yield a very unevenly wound roll or stack.
In that connection, a further simplification of the application of a screen cloth can be obtained by applying the step of applying the guide elements directly after taking the screen cloth off the roll or stack and before transferring the screen cloth to the profiles. both longitudinal edges of the screen.
In that connection, the method preferably comprises the steps of: - receiving the guide elements in the longitudinal guides of the transfer means, - attaching the longitudinal edges of the screen cloth to the guide elements while they are in the longitudinal guides of the transfer means.
In this way a very efficient handling of the guide elements is obtained. These are initially located in the longitudinal guides, and are attached to the screen in that state. It is then no longer necessary to thread the guide elements, while they are attached to the screen, into the longitudinal guides one by one.
The shape of the guide elements and the shape of the guides of the profiles can also be designed in many different ways. A condition for this is that the guide elements are slidable in the longitudinal direction of the guides, while they are retained in the transverse direction relative to the guides. In that regard, the method comprises at. preferably the steps of: - providing a base profile and a screen profile provided with a cross-section with an undercut cavity, which undercut cavities are each part of the longitudinal guides of those profiles, - providing guide elements with a cross section that essentially corresponds to the cross section of the undercut cavities.
The step of attaching the screen to the guide elements can also be carried out in various ways. For example, an adhesive can be used for this purpose. However, preference is given to fixing the longitudinal edges of the screen cloth to the guide elements by means of a stapling operation.
According to another possibility, guide elements connected to each other by a strip are used. These guide elements are located at an edge of the strip, such that the screen can be overlapped on the strip, such as by gluing, sewing and the like. .............-
The method according to the invention can be used for applying a single screen between two trusses, but it is also possible to arrange several screens in such an area. If, for example, three profiles are provided between two frames each, two screen cloths can also be provided between two of those profiles. The two profiles are then shifted as far apart as possible to allow the screen to be threaded in the desired manner.
The invention further relates to an installation for carrying out the method described above. This installation is preferably mobile through the greenhouse, in particular on the tubes located on the bottom thereof. In that connection, the installation can be designed with a frame, a roller support device provided on the frame and the like with a screen cover, holder means for holding a series of guide elements, optionally supply means for supplying the guide elements to both longitudinal edges of the screen cloth; fixing means for attaching the guide elements to both longitudinal edges of the screen cloth as well as transferring means for transferring the screen cloth provided on both longitudinal edges with guide elements to profiles associated with the greenhouse or the greenhouse, which are provided with a guide for the guide elements.
In the event that use is made of a supply of screen fabric from the factory, i.e. without guide elements attached thereto, fixing means may be provided at opposite ends of the roll for fixing the guide elements to the longitudinal edges of the screen fabric there.
In particular, the transfer means may comprise transfer profiles, each of which is provided with a longitudinal guide for the guide elements, on either side of the roll. In connection with trouble-free guiding of the screen fabric with the guiding elements attached thereto according to an inclined web section and a subsequent curved web section, each transfer profile may have a substantially straight profile section extending obliquely upwards from the roll, such as a straight line profile section connecting curved profile section, which curved profile sections can be connected to a screen profile or to a corresponding fixed profile.
The invention also relates to the combination of a screen profile for use with the method described above as well as a; quantity of guide elements, which screen profile is provided with a longitudinal guide, the cross section of which corresponds to the cross section of each guide element. The invention also relates to the combination of a basic profile for use in that method as well as a number of guide elements, which basic profile is provided with a longitudinal guide whose cross-section corresponds to the cross-section of each guide element. Finally, the invention also relates to the screen profile, the basic profile and the guide element for use in the method according to the invention.
For the variant of the method in which an intermediate profile is used between the base profile and the screen profile, the intermediate profile has longitudinal guides on either side, each of which can be accommodated with the guide elements of the screen cloths between which the intermediate profile is situated. ...................
The basic profile can be fixed to the greenhouse structure, in particular to a lattice girder. However, it is also possible that the basic profile is accommodated for displacement in the greenhouse construction, for example if two screens are used one behind the other in a compartment between two lattice girders.
The invention also relates to a guide element for use in the method as described above. This guide element preferably has an elongated body with a substantially constant cross-section, which body is made narrower at least at one of its ends, as well as a fastening means provided on that body to which a screen cloth can be attached. the ends become narrower, to facilitate the displacement of the guide element in the undercut cavity of the profiles.
The invention also relates to a screen installation as obtained by the above-described method, comprising at least two profiles which are each provided with undercut cavities extending in the longitudinal direction and a screen cloth with in each case series of guide elements which are spaced apart from one another on the longitudinal edges. included in each case in the undercut cavity of an associated profile.
The invention further relates to a screen cloth assembly comprising a screen cloth as well as on both longitudinal edges of the screen cloth extending in the longitudinal direction from guide elements situated at a distance from each other. The guide element egg are preferably mutually connected by a strip which extends along one side of the guide elements, to which strip the screen cloth is attached.
The invention also relates to a series of several guide elements as described above, which guide elements are mutually connected by intermediate pieces. A strip can be provided on a longitudinal edge, the guide elements of which are located. .............
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown in the figures.

Figure 2 shows the view according to II of Figure 1 with the fixed profile.
Figure 3 shows the view according to III of Figure 1 with the screen profile.
Figure 4 shows a perspective view of the greenhouse during the application of the screen cloth.
Figure 5 shows a side view of an installation for performing said method.
Figure 6 shows the cross-sections according to VI-VI of Figure 5.
Figure 7 shows a variant with double screens.
Figure 8 shows a series of guide elements ......................
Figure 9 shows the cross-section according to IX-IX of Figure 8.
The greenhouse shown in Figure 1 comprises a number of columns 1 on which trusses 2 are supported. The roof construction is supported on these trusses 2. This cap construction comprises gutters 3, with respect to which rods 4 are directed obliquely upwards. The cams 5 are supported on the bars 4. Glass plates 6 are arranged between these rods 4, the troughs 3 and the cams 5.
The screen installation 13 according to the invention is arranged in this greenhouse construction at the level of the beams 2. This screen installation 13 comprises in a known manner a number of screen cloths 7, one end of which is each connected to the fixed profile 18 which is attached to the lower girders or supporting beams 14 which form part of the trusses 2. The other end of the screen cloths 7 is connected to the screen profiles 8. These screen profiles 8 can be moved back and forth between the two beams in a known manner. 2. In that regard, the screen profiles 8 are connected by means of a coupling 15 known per se to the wire-shaped drive 16. These drives 16 ensure that the screen cloths 7 can be transferred between a closed and an open position: in Figure 1 an intermediate position. The screen cloths 7 are supported by the wires 17 against sagging. Wires (not shown) can also be provided above the screen cloths 7 in order to prevent them from blowing up.
In the traditional screen installations, the screen cloths 7 are connected to the screen profiles by means of separate clips of spring steel. Such spring steel clamps must be attached manually piece by piece, on the one hand to the fixed profiles 18 and on the other hand to the screen profiles 8 arranged at height in the greenhouse. This is a time-consuming and risky process, especially with high greenhouses. In the screen installation according to the invention, the screen cloths 7 can be pulled along the fixed profiles 18 and the screen profiles 8, the confirmation between the screens and the screen profiles.
Because a part of the fastening means to which the screen cloths 7 are connected to the screen profiles can be achieved, it is integrated in the screen profiles. Reference is made in this regard to Figure 2, in which a fixed profile 18 according to the invention is shown (which is attached to the bottom 14 of the lattice girder 2 by means of fixing clips 19). The fixed profile 18 has an undercut cavity 20. A plurality of guide elements 21 are regularly spread over the length of the screen cloth 7, such that the screen cloth 7 can be reliably retained over its entire length by the fixed profile. It is further important that the guide elements 21 be slidable in the undercut cavity, as will be explained below. Figure 3 shows that the screen profile 8 is also provided with an undercut cavity 20 in which guide elements 21 are accommodated which are attached to the other edge of the screen cloth 7. Also in this case the guide elements 21 are slidable in the undercut cavity 20. ... .....
Thanks to this slidability of the guide elements 21 relative to the profiles 8, 18, the screen cloth 7 can be moved along the screen profiles 18 until the screen cloth 7 extends over the entire length of the profiles 8, 18. In this exemplary embodiment, the guide elements 21 have an elongated shape with a substantially T-shaped cross section. The guide elements 21 are chamfered at both ends, such that they are easily slidable in the profiles and cannot catch on any transitions between successive profiles. Subsequently, the screen can be fixed by, for example, forming the profiles locally, such that certain of the guide elements 21 are clamped in the undercut cavity 20. It is also possible to use thicker guide elements at the ends of the screen, so that a reliable fixing is obtained .
When the screening screens can thus be slid into the profiles 8, 18, manual clamping of metal clamps can be dispensed with. This means a significant improvement and simplification of the work associated with the installation of the screen installation. The example of Figure 4 shows how the screen cloth 7 can be applied in this way. An installation 23 is then used, which is also shown in side view in Figure 5. This installation consists of a carriage 10, on which a roll 11 with the screen 7 is placed. The carriage 10 has wheels 12, such that it is movable over, for example, the heating pipes 9 or other rails located on the bottom in a greenhouse. The carriage 10 can thus be placed at any pair of trusses 14, as shown in Figure 4.
In connection with the provision of the screen cloth 7, the relevant screen profile 8 is shifted against the truss 14, which is opposite the truss 14 where the fixed profile 18 is attached. As shown in Figure 5, parts are then removed from said profiles 8, 18, such that transfer profiles can be provided. These transfer profiles comprise a curved transfer profile 28 which is placed in the space created by removing the parts 30 and which has an undercut cavity corresponding to the undercut cavity 20 of the profiles 8,18 (see also the cross-section of Figure 6).
A slanted, straight transfer profile 27 is then connected to each curved transfer profile 28. These transfer profiles 27 extend obliquely downwards to the carriage 10, in particular to near the roller 11. On the underside of each oblique transfer profile 27 there is a stapler 24 through which.
the supply belt 26 guide elements 21 are supplied from the vibrator filler 25. By means of the stapler these guide elements 21 are fixed by means of staples 31 to a respective edge of the screen 7 (see figure 6), and then these guide elements 21 are cut into the undercut cavity 20 of the obliquely placed transfer profile 27 is slid.
In connection with an efficient attachment of the guide elements 21 to the screen cloth 7, these guide elements are pre-included in a guide in the stapler. The screen is then attached to the guide elements by the stapler. The guide elements are then pulled into the transfer profile 27 with the cloth.
A pulling device 29 is attached to the free end of the screen cloth 7, such that the screen cloth is pulled upwards through the transfer profiles 27, 28 and then horizontally through the profiles 8,18. The speed at which this takes place is adjusted to the operating speed of the stapler 29, such that it is always ensured that the relevant edge of the screen cloth is supported at suitable distances by the guide elements 21 in the profiles.
After the screen 7 has been completely pulled into the profiles 8, 18, the transfer profiles are removed. The part of the profiles 8, 18 that was initially removed is put back into the interruption 30. Finally, the screen cloth 7 can then also be pulled through the last part of the profiles 8, 18. After the screen 7 has thus been completely fitted, it is possible to. .this. be fixed definitively by, for example, compressing the profiles locally, or by using guide elements with an excess.
The variant of Figure 7 shows a method of applying double screen cloths 7. First, the left screen cloth is applied in the manner described above. The left screen profile 8 is then moved completely to the left, the left screen screen 7 being compressed into a package. The right screen profile 8, which lies against the left screen profile 8, is also moved to the left.
Between that right-hand screen profile 8 and the right, fixed screen profile 18, the right-hand screen cloth 7 can now also be threaded in the manner described above. This completes the installation of both screens 7.
The example of Figure 7 shows only a single variant, in which two screen profiles 8 are applied in the middle, which are adjacent to each other, but are separate from each other in connection with opening both screen cloths 7 to the left and right. However, it is also possible to use a single screen profile in the middle with undercut cavities 20 on both sides, and for example to make the screen profile movable on the extreme right-hand side in connection with the full opening of the screens.
In the embodiment shown above, the guide elements are each attached to the screen cloth separately. In the exemplary embodiment of Figures 8 and 9, this is not necessary. The guide elements 21 are thereby formed on a strip 32, which extends laterally along the guide elements. The screen cloth 7 can be attached to the strip, such as by sewing or gluing. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the screen cloth 7 is pressed into the cross-cuts 33. The guide elements have a cross-shaped cross-section, which is tailored to the shape of the undercut cavity of the profile.
